Adult Treatment Materials

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Acute Stress Disorder (CBT for ASD)

ISTSS members can get a free 6-session treatment manual for acute stress disorder that has been shown to prevent chronic PTSD (Bryant et al., 1998; Bryant et al., 2003) in motor vehicle accident, industrial accident, and nonsexual assault survivors.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

ISTSS members can get the CPT manual for treating PTSD for free. Although this version is targeted specifically at military and veteran populations, the procedures are equally applicable to other traumatized groups (see Resick and Schnicke, 1993).

Practitioner Tools

ISTSS members can find a number of practical tools (e.g., client handouts) to assist in provision of evidence-based treatment.

Child Treatment Materials

Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Children (TF-CBT)

This 10-hour web-based training in Trauma-focused CBT for Children is available for free to members and non-members. It is brought to you by the Medical University of South Carolina National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center, Allegheny General Hospital's Center for Traumatic Stress in Children and Adolescents, Child Abuse Research Education & Service (CARES) Institute, and The National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
