Advanced Training Certificate Program

The ISTSS Advanced Training Certificate Program offers the unique opportunity for participants to further their training in traumatic stress through a course of workshops and lectures from world-renowned clinical and research experts. ISTSS is home to leading clinicians and researchers who are experts in a wide span of topics relate to traumatic stress. This certificate program capitalizes on their expertise to provide a personalized training program for clinicians and researchers who desire advanced training in this field.

This product is temporarily unavailable while ISTSS applies to become an approved sponsor of CE credit through the APA.
If you are already enrolled in the Advanced Training Certificate Program and would like an extension, please let us know and we will happily accommodate those requests.

If I’ve already taken the quiz for my online purchase, will I lose that credit now?
No, all credits already awarded are valid.

If I’ve purchased the course and haven’t taken the quiz yet, will I still be able to?
Yes, eventually. The quizzing option will be temporarily removed until new sponsorship of CE approval is achieved. You will receive notification once the quizzing option is available for credit. Until then, you will continue to have access to the online materials for reference.

Please contact either Patricia Ferchland-Bingham or Elaina McCalmont with any questions

ISTSS awards a certificate of completion for this program. This is NOT a certification.

Participants can choose from an array of online workshops across six core subject areas*:

  1. Psychological Treatment of PTSD

  2. Working with Specialized Populations

  3. Neurological and Pharmacological Treatment of PTSD

  4. Human Rights and Ethical Issues

  5. Psychological Treatment of Trauma-Related Disorders

  6. Methodological Issues in Traumatic Stress Research

* Each course must be purchased separately. When purchasing a course, you must select the option "With CE Credit". The non-member, $50 certificate fee does not include individual course fees. The "With CE Credit" courses are temporarily unavailable.

To encourage breadth of training, participants must complete at least one workshop from at least four different categories. One of these categories must be either Psychological Treatment of PTSD or Psychological Treatment of Trauma-Related Disorders.  A total of 21 credits must be earned to complete the program. To encourage depth of training, participants are expected to further delve into one or more of these domains, taking additional workshops. This combination allows for a personalized training experience that will match the needs of a wide range of professionals.
