Now Available: New Book Dealing with Trauma Interventions in War and Peace

Kluwer Academic/Plenum has published a new book edited by ISTSS members Bonnie L. Green, Matthew J. Friedman, Joop de Jong, Susan D. Solomon, Terence M. Keane, John A. Fairbank, Brigid Donelan and Ellen Frey-Wouters. Trauma Interventions in War and Peace: Prevention, Practice and Policy addresses a global perspective of the psychological aftermath of large-scale catastrophes and individual violence.
Practitioners and policy-makers alike will benefit from the book, which identifies model programs that can be implemented at every level. These programs include social policy, safety programs, public education, coordination, capacity building, training, self-help, counseling and clinical intervention.
To complete this book, ISTSS collaborated with the United Nations, the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization, the National Center for PTSD, the International Policy Research Institute, and the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research of the National Institutes of Health.
