ISTSS Co-Sponsors NDSD in October; CEUs and Screening Material Available to Participating Clinicians

This year’s National Depression Screening Day (NDSD)—held October 9 and co-sponsored by ISTSS—offers a concise questionnaire that screens patients for a range of disorders in an effort to bolster resiliency during trying times. In addition to screening for depression, posttraumatic stress, generalized anxiety and bipolar disorder, material now includes information on managing stress and recognizing the physical symptoms that coincide with mental health disorders. NDSD’s multifaceted approach provides solutions for the more than 54 million Americans, and their communities, affected by mental disorders.

Meeting Mentors Needed for ISTSS 19th Annual Meeting

Have you ever attended a conference for the first time and wished someone on site could give you information you needed about the meeting? As part of ISTSS’s welcome to first-time attendees at the Baltimore meeting in 2002, experienced members of ISTSS who volunteered as meeting mentors were available for questions and comments about the conference and the organization. Meeting mentors were identified by wearing bright pink lapel buttons labeled “Mentor.”

Annual Meeting Update on Expanded Continuing Education Credit for Professionals

Continuing education credit will be available for many professional disciplines at the 19th ISTSS annual meeting, including some that were not served in the past. Boston University School of Medicine and ISTSS are the joint sponsors for continuing medical education (CME) credits, while ISTSS and The Institute for Continuing Education are the joint sponsors for all other available CE credits. Because these are new partnerships, some arrangements have changed from last year. Be sure to check below for information on your discipline.
