ISTSS Election Results
The new president elect for 2002 is Paula Schnurr, PhD. Schnurr is deputy to the executive director of the Department of Veterans Affairs National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, where her duties involve the coordination of activities across seven consortium sites, consultation on research, and program development. She also is a research professor of psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School.

Schnurr looks forward to serving ISTSS members. "My overall goal for serving as president is to help ensure that we use our richness and diversity to promote the cause of trauma survivors and support those who work with them," she says. Schnurr will take office at the 2003 annual meeting, when Onno van der Hart finishes his 2003 term as president.

The election also resulted in the re-election to the board of the following individuals: Eve Carlson, Mary Ann Dutton, Merle Friedman, and Barbara Rothbaum.

Newly elected to the board are the following: Richard Bryant, Constance Dalenberg, Elana Newman, and Ulrich Schnyder.

As a result of Schnurr's election, a vacancy was created for the last year of her three-year term on the board. Harold Kudler has been elected to fill the remaining year of Schnurr's board term.
